NOT IF YOU BREAK UP WITH ME FIRST

from Aladdin

Childhood friends Eve and Andrew are destined to be together—everyone says so, especially their friends and classmates who are all suddenly crush-obsessed. So when their first eighth-grade school dance rolls around and Eve, feeling the pressure, awkwardly asks Andrew to go with her, everyone assumes they are Officially Dating and Practically in Love. Overwhelmed, Eve and Andrew just go along with it.

And it’s awkward. Neither of them want this dating thing to mess up their friendship, and they don’t really see each other that way. But they also don’t want to be the one to call things off, the one to make things super awkward, so they both separately pledge to be the worst boyfriend/girlfriend ever, leaving it to the other person to break up with them. It would be genius, if the other person weren’t trying to do the exact same thing.

NOT IF YOU BREAK UP WITH ME FIRST
- the reviews are in:

"Not If You Break Up with Me First is classic rom-com gold and I couldn’t put it down. Kind of, maybe, accidentally falling for your best friend in middle school? Count me in! Eve and Andrew had my heart as they fake-dated in the very best-worst way. Put this one on your TBR stat!” - Lynn Painter, best-selling author of Better than the Movies

"Perfectly captures the “actual disorder” of being 13." - Kirkus

"The thrilling, agonizing muddle between middle school friendship and something "more" plays out in all its messy authenticity in G.F. Miller's appealing, painfully funny second novel.... Peer pressure, hormones, mixed feelings, gasp-worthy pranks: Not If You Break Up with Me First has it all. As Andrew says, "Feelings are weird." -- Shelf Awareness (starred review)

"Miller authentically captures the awkwardness and high jinks of middle school. Each situation feels genuine, and readers will stay engaged while not knowing if they are cheering for Andrew and Eve to break up or stay together. These relatable characters value the friendship they have built but are influenced by a large cast of secondary characters. This coming-of-age story will stay with everyone who reads it. VERDICT: The perfect book for middle school romance sections; a must-buy." -- SLJ (starred review)

WHAT IF YOU FALL FOR ME FIRST

coming June 10, 2025 from Aladdin

Sofia has had enough of everyone thinking she's sooo nice. "Sweet," "innocent," and "goody two-shoes" are all phrases that her classmates would use to describe her, but there's more to her than that. She wants everyone--especially her forever crush, Mark Chen--to see that there are other sides to her.

To help her level up to Official Cool Girl, Sofia enlists trendy and confident Holden--the guy who everyone else has written off as a total player and first-class jerk. Under Holden's guidance, Sofia learns to revamp her style, ride a skateboard, and stand up for herself. At the same time, Holden learns that when he's alone with Sofia, it's safe to drop the cool guy act and just be himself.

When their efforts start to pay off, Sofia is faced with a choice. Should she stick with the plan--and risk losing herself in the process--or take a chance on the person everyone says will break her heart?

GLIMPSED - the reviews are in:

"Charity's happy ending is well deserved, and that it's with an adorable Trekkie is icing on the cake...readers of all ages will root for Charity's HEA." - School Library Journal

"Though its fantasy elements give it a bit of shine, this debut is anchored by its well-developed characters and genuine exploration of family and high-school drama. A sweetly unique romance with real heart." - Booklist

"Filled with tongue-in-cheek humor, Miller’s perspective-switched take on the classic 'Cinderella' dynamic augments its laughs with themes of love and personal growth...Miller’s lighthearted contemporary debut interrogates the age-old 'just because you can doesn’t mean you should' conundrum. Vibrant characters will appeal, immersing readers in a gently fantastical world brimming with teen shenanigans." - Publishers Weekly

"Glimpsed was wonderful, twisted, clever, laugh-out-loud funny, and there were more than enough Star Trek: The Original Series references to make even my nerd heart smile. Once the story gets going, the action barrels right to the end. Be careful when you start this book, because you will stay up until you finish it." - Alethea Kontis for National Public Radio
