NOT IF YOU BREAK UP WITH ME FIRST

Childhood friends Eve and Andrew are destined to be together—everyone says so, especially their friends and classmates who are all suddenly crush-obsessed. So when their first eighth-grade school dance rolls around and Eve, feeling the pressure, awkwardly asks Andrew to go with her, everyone assumes they are Officially Dating and Practically in Love. Overwhelmed, Eve and Andrew just go along with it.

And it’s awkward. Neither of them want this dating thing to mess up their friendship, and they don’t really see each other that way. But they also don’t want to be the one to call things off, the one to make things super awkward, so they both separately pledge to be the worst boyfriend/girlfriend ever, leaving it to the other person to break up with them. It would be genius, if the other person weren’t trying to do the exact same thing. . . .

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

G. F. Miller absolutely insists on a happy ending. Everything else is negotiable. She is living her Happily Ever After with her college sweetheart, three kids, two puppies, and some chickens. She cries at random times. She makes faces at herself in the mirror. She believes in the Oxford comma. And she’s always here for a dance party.

GLIMPSED - the reviews are in:

"Charity's happy ending is well deserved, and that it's with an adorable Trekkie is icing on the cake...readers of all ages will root for Charity's HEA." - School Library Journal

"Though its fantasy elements give it a bit of shine, this debut is anchored by its well-developed characters and genuine exploration of family and high-school drama. A sweetly unique romance with real heart." - Booklist

"Filled with tongue-in-cheek humor, Miller’s perspective-switched take on the classic 'Cinderella' dynamic augments its laughs with themes of love and personal growth...Miller’s lighthearted contemporary debut interrogates the age-old 'just because you can doesn’t mean you should' conundrum. Vibrant characters will appeal, immersing readers in a gently fantastical world brimming with teen shenanigans." - Publishers Weekly

"Glimpsed was wonderful, twisted, clever, laugh-out-loud funny, and there were more than enough Star Trek: The Original Series references to make even my nerd heart smile. Once the story gets going, the action barrels right to the end. Be careful when you start this book, because you will stay up until you finish it." - Alethea Kontis for National Public Radio
